Autumn Images and Allergies

Now that we’re into September, it really is starting to look and feel like autumn.  The flowers have been fading for a month, due to the heat we’ve had this summer.

If you suffer from seasonal allergies like I do, you might be interested in this web site:  www.pollen.com

You can sign up for daily e-mails alerting you when the pollen levels are elevated.  I know when there’s pollen in the air without an e-mail because my eyes itch and my head plugs up!  What’s nice about the alerts is it tells you, based on your zip code, what allergens are in the air for that day.  It can help you figure out just what plants are bothering you the most.  (NOTE:  I’m adding in what I received in e-mail for today from www.pollen.com.)

Today’s allergy levels for SAVAGE, MN:
Tuesday – 7.9/Medium-High

Today’s predominant pollen:
Ragweed, Nettle and Chenopods.

Tomorrow’s allergy levels:
Wednesday – 7.1/Medium

I still like to go out by the wild flowers (attractive weeds) and take photos, like this male white-faced meadowhawk dragonfly.  I just don’t stay out there for very long!

And in case you missed it, today’s give-away blog post is HERE.  Enjoy the day — we’re entering what should be some of the nicest weather of the year.  I’ll just keep my tissues and allergy meds handy!
