Design Wall (floor) Monday

I have another Lucy Boston block almost done (some of the edge pieces aren’t stitched yet:

They are so much fun to do.  I have also been working on making “parts”, the individual honeycomb pieces that get stitched together.  It takes 24 honeycomb parts to make this block.

I also started Pat Sloan’s Mystery block of the month for 2015 (and it’s FREE).  I am making mine queen size, so I will need to make two or three blocks each month (instead of one).  January’s block:BOM 1b redone

And my camera has been busy this month as well.  Here is my favorite shot, a young (probably second year) Roseate Spoonbill, leaping out of the water after a bit of dinner.  He had the late afternoon sun at his back.

That’s it for now.  Check out Judy Laquidara’s blog to see what other quilters have been doing.

Design-Wall Monday

I had a request for a puppy quilt, done in Mary Johnson’s Strippie pattern (free pattern, so easy you can get it done before Christmas).  I did this bear one for a donation quilt this year, but everyone loved the puppy one I did last year.  I have puppy fabric now, so that is on the list for this week.

Here is a close-in shot of the puppy one:

Also on the list is to finish my “bee” quilt for a great nephew.

This week I’ve been busy as a bee posting items (culled from some deep house cleaning) on eBay.  It’s like having a job again!  In between things, I did get three more centers done for my barely budding Lucy Boston quilt.
