Pelicans

Pelicans are so common here on the Texas Gulf coast, but I never get tired of watching them.

An American White Pelican:

The White Pelicans are often swimming/fishing in groups.

Here’s a photo of a non-breeding Brown Pelican (white head and neck).

And a breeding Brown Pelican, with the chestnut brown neck:

    Beautiful shots!
I love the first shot with the soft hair on the head and then the feathers seem so light and fluffy – wonderful details.

  7. I always enjoy your pictures. Not much for bird pictures here–I think even the penguins are hiding tonight. Rain–will turn to sleet and snow overnight. Northern part of the state will be getting a LOT of snow. Heard possible power outages in MNLPS and outlying areas. Good time to stay in and sew.
