What’s on My Needles?

I’m still working on the Hitchhiker shawl/scarf, but I’m closing in.  I have 35 points done out of 42.  Of course, the rows get longer every time I even look at it!

Pattern:  Hitchhiker, by Martina Behm
Yarn:  Crazy Zauberball, Colorway 2136, “Spring is Here”

I’m using a little larger needles than called for.  I think they are #5 circular needles.   The texture of the scarf is kind of a boucle’ fabric, and I am really liking it.  I figure three more sessions of knitting, and I will be ready to do my first blocking.

What’s on My Needles?

Two knitting projects in the works.  First is a fun pair of socks made with this cool two-tone yarn.  It starts out one color, and morphs into another color.  The yarn is Transitions by Gypsy Girl Creations, colorway Poconos.  I bought it locally in Prior Lake, MN, at the Twisted Loop yarn shop.  Pattern is Cat Bordhi’s basic sock on two needles — my favorite (from Cat’s book “Socks Soar on Two Needles”).

My other project is the Aestlight Shawl/neck wrap by Gudrun Johnston (pattern available on Ravelry).  Yarn is Knit One, Crochet Two’s Crock-O-Dye, Color is 559.

Last night I ripped out the lace section because it didn’t look the same on the two sides of the point.  It still doesn’t look 100% right, but I figure I will just loop it around my neck and hope for the best!  And who knows, maybe it will block out (sort of like wavy quilt tops quilting out)!

I also had a chance to look for dragonflies in the wildflowers behind our house, and I’ve never seen so many!  I’m sure it’s because of the wet, wet spring we’ve had.  Just a couple of pictures, and I haven’t taken the time to figure out what kind they are, but they were fun to watch!
