I’ve kept busy sewing/crafting, but don’t have a whole lot to show for it!
I had a kidney stone that was too big to find its way out and in the wrong place to zap, so that laid me up for a good part of November. Â I’m feeling pretty close to 100% and full steam ahead…
I’m meeting a high school girlfriend Arlene for brunch today, and thinking back, we’ve been good friends for 50 years! Â Wow, I didn’t think I was even that old! Â We don’t usually do gifts, but it seemed in order this year…
so I made her a Swoon Bonnie Bucket bag. Â Swoon patterns are by Alicia Miller, and you can find her patterns HERE. Â Also note that she generously has some free patterns as well as patterns for purchase.
Arlene is a decorative painter, and is best know for her paintings of lace. Â Robert Kaufman licensed some of Arlene’s designs back in 2007 and created a line of fabric. Â This fabric is perfect for purses! Â I added some special details: Â metal feet, Chicago screws to secure the connector and the handle,
a key on a chain, just for fun,
and I included a piece of the selvage on the inside that has her name on it.
Bad picture, I know, shooting into a bag!
I have a baby quilt on the Gammill for great-nephew Peter, and that’s about it for now.
Linking to Judy Laquidara’s Monday post…be sure to pop over and see what others are up to this week.

What a special gift!
Lucky friend! If she isn’t thrilled to pieces, I’ll send you my address! I’ve never tried to sew through a heavy material like that, but I’m pretty sure my machine would protest. You did a lovely job.
Looks to me like you have been real busy. That is adorable. Glad you are feeling better!!
