FINISHES:  A couple of UFO completions to report, but I didn’t take completed pictures before taking them to the fair.  A couple of in-progress photos…first, a bit of RJ’s quilt (pattern is Easy Asian Print Throw), quilted with Kathie James’ Feather Feather panto:
and a bit of Brianna’s quilt (quilted with the panto Double Rose Vine by Norma Sharp):
WORKING ON: Â “Big Star” or “Dashing Star” quilt. Â Here are my fabrics — which I LOVE — Moda’s Blackbird Meadow line (except for the green fabric, that’s from another line but works nicely) .
I have more detail and a photo of a finished block on  my last post.
DONATIONS: Â I have a happy task of preparing some quilts for our church’s bazaar and gala auction, coming up next month. Â I reached into my Big Box of Flimsies, and pulled out three.
#1Â Â is a 1600 quilt, or whatever that mindless speed sewing technique was called. Â It’s in Kaffe fabrics, and it would be good for a child or a lap quilt for an adult. Â It will be fun to quilt, don’t you think?
#2 is a preprinted Kimba panel with some additional borders. Â (Excuse my crooked shot of a wrinkled top…please!) Â This panel is probably out of print, but you might be able to find it on ebay.
And #3 is a baby quilt I put together quite a long time ago of some leftover blocks from another project.
I will be busy getting these small quilts quilted and bound by the end of the month…then I can get back to work on those huge 22″ stars that will make up the Dashing Stars quilt. Â It’s going to be a busy 30 days or so, but my favorite kind of busy.
Thursday is the first day of the Minnesota State Fair, and we’ll be there bright and early to see all the beautiful quilts…watch for photos next Monday.
