Making a Photo Collage

I’ve made a couple of photo collages this week for my “365 Project”.  Here is one I did of various warblers:

In case you haven’t heard of The 365 Project, it’s a site where you are encouraged to post a photo a day for a year.  The basic service is free, but if you want to take advantage of some of the extra perks, there is a fee of $19.99 per year.  It’s a wonderful way to improve your photography, and you end up following people whose photography appeals to you…and you get inspired to make better photos.

(A link to my project is the bird icon in the left side bar.  I have completed 10 months of my project so far.)

ANYWAY, there are optional challenges from time to time that you can participate in.  There is one on collages this week, which has prompted me to collect some photos that I wanted to put together.  I also wanted to make it EASY, and I didn’t want to spend a lot of time with complicated software, trying to figure out how to do something that I probably won’t use very often.

THE SOLUTION:  www.picmonkey.com

It’s a free on-line photo editor that has a handy-dandy collage maker.  Click on the Collage button, upload your photos, and away you go! Be sure to download your collage to your computer  when you’re done because the program doesn’t save anything for you — it’s an on-line tool that’s free for your use.  And have fun!

For a little more fun, here is another collage I did this week.  I made it into a puzzle courtesy of Jigzone.com.  Click anywhere on the puzzle below to begin.
