Design-Wall Monday

Well, I kind of lost my sew-jo over the winter months, but I’m thrilled to report that I’m back at my cutting mat and sewing machine.

Mystery Block 3

I’ve been working on a mystery quilt that was offered through community ed.  I’m behind because I didn’t work on it much in Texas, and now I’m playing catch-up.  It’s going to be queen size, and the individual blocks are huge.

Part of the fun of this mystery is the blocks can be put together three different ways.

Further evidence of the sewing juices beginning to flow again:  I saw a free pattern displayed on Facebook by Pat Sloan, and thought, “I HAVE to make it!”

Cloud 9 Fabrics:  Make it Sew! Ribbon Box Quilt.  Designed By Elizabeth Olwen

Cute, cute, cute, or WHAT?  Here is a link to the FREE pattern.  It requires 12 one-third yard cuts, plus yardage for the background and binding.  And it makes a nice size for a young child — a little larger than a traditional baby quilt.  My fabric selections are pictured in the header of this post.

Can’t you just see this in red/white/blue, or brights?  It’s one to keep in mind if you see a fabric collection that you’d like to work with.
