What a busy week! Â I was fortunate to be invited to my Aunt Bertha’s retreat in Alabama at Grand Oak Retreat. Â This is the retreat of your dreams…comfy lodgings, fabulous views, a wonderful hostess (Cindy), and the food…but that’s for another day.
I finished four little quilt tops — okay, they are called “place mats” — and they are ready for quilting and no binding via the pillowcase method. Â The pattern is Take Four, and is an easy slice-and-dice pattern.
I TOTALLY FINISHED a UFO I brought to work on — I gave it to Joan when I realized I really didn’t love it any more. Â Actually, I didn’t even like it any more. Â Thank you, Joan!
I also finished a baby quilt top (easy, it was a panel) and worked on a couple of other quilts, which I don’t have photos of. Â So a bit more about the retreat. Â There were nine of us — here are the other eight, having just finished a meal (sometimes we dine inside, sometimes outside):
You could search far and wide and not find a more wonderful group of women to spend a few days with. Â Thank you, ladies, for welcoming me into your group! Â And did I mention the view?
That’s all for now. Â More quilt and retreat photos in the days to come.
