What a week, what a week! I was one of the eleven luckiest girls in the world last week. We were in a 4 1/2 day Paula Nadelstern class in New Braunfels, T X!
I have admired Paula’s quilts for years, and was thrilled to see a class through Quilting Adventures almost in my backyard…well, in Texas distance. It was 3 1/2 hours away. Besides being a fabulous artist/designer/quilter, I now know she’s a wonderful teacher. If you have a chance to take a class from Paula, don’t be intimidated by the math (there isn’t any), the difficulty, or the detail of the kaleidoscopes. All eleven of us turned out some pretty amazing blocks.

Can’t wait to finish this block and see the symmetry appear, but today is a packing day…last day at the beach. *sob*Â
p.s. Colors are more vibrant than the way they appear on the monitor. When I’m back home with familiar computer and software, I’ll do a better photo.

This sounds like wonderful fun (even the beach part ain’t bad to get thrown in!!). The blocks are stunning, imagine what you will have when you finish! I think it was well worth the trip ~

Sue, they are gorgeous! I’m so happy for you that you got to take a class from her! Saw some of her work – as well as entire walls of her fabrics last Oct. in Houston – and it is so exquisite. Just can’t wait to see your blocks and hear all about the class.
Hey while it may be your last day at the beach there (are you saying we up here in Minnesota should feel bad for you? 🙂 you’ll be pleased to know that you may be able to enjoy the waters up here! There were puddles all over yesterday from rain and melting snow – even 169 south (towards Mankato, etc) was shut down due to flooding! Truthfully, I hate this ‘in between’ season before spring arrives, but I know that many areas need as much moisture as possible. Hope your homeward bound travels are safe!
Wow! Sue! This is gorgeous!! So glad I live close enough to you that I might one day see this finished quilt!! Sorry that this is your last day at the beach. Lots of water here in Minnesota………puddles that is from the melting snow. 😉
