Whatcha Reading Tuesday

Royal Blood by Rhys Bowen

I finished reading (listening to) Rhys Bowen’s Royal Blood this morning.  This series is set in the depression of the ’30s and revolves around Lady Georgiana, a distant cousin to King George V.  Although royal, her family has no money.  Lady Georgie is young and pretty, of course, and loves solving mysteries (or trying, anyway).

It’s fun reading, light, and pretty fanciful.  This is the second book in this Royal Spyness series I’ve read, and I will read another.  It’s a fun easy read for the beach.

The Secret Life of Bees

Last week I asked which book I should get next from my wish list:   The Girl with the Dragon Tatoo, Angela’s Ashes, The Secret Keeper, or the Secret Life of Bees.  Thank you for the comments, and I do plan to read all of them.  I chose the Secret Life of Bees and will start it this week.  I think every book received a vote (some by comment, some by e-mail), and that tells me they are all good choices!  Thank you for your input.

PS:  I’m going to be in Paula Nadelstern’s kaleidoscope class next week, so if you’re a fan of Paula, as I am, be sure to check back!

  1. Enjoy that class! I just found the Bowen books at the library, so I’ve put them on the list. There are a lot, but only the two that say Royal something.
