Ew, not a good photo, but it’s late at night and I used a flash, so I guess it will have to do.
I’m making these blocks in black and white prints with a red center. I’ve been collecting black & white prints for a while (fat quarters), and decided to make this easy quilt from Susan Nelson’s Matchmaker instructions. I decided to add the red patch in the center to add a third color as I thought just black & white was a little too boring for me. I’m liking the blocks so far.
I will be alternating white X’s with black X’s in the finished quilt, but I have more light blocks than black ones finished.
It will be a throw-sized quilt. I have 18 blocks made — halfway there!

I love this block! Nice color choices. I made a quilt using this block and set it with a sashing, but I can see that setting them with opposite colors will make a nice secondary pattern. I am looking forward to seeing this finished!
I love red, black and white quilts!!
Luv your black/white. I did one once; got real crazy & I didn’t like it until I used some red accent. Then it became just fine!
I love your quilt. I have been thinking about a black and white quilt. Your quilt really inspires me.
Red is perfect for this one. I love the x’s ~
:-}pokey
Love all the b/w fabrics and the red really makes each block area pop!!
