Some lovely blue Opal yarn is what’s on my needles! I’m still working on the first sock, having just completed the heel and heel turn, and I’ve started the gusset.
This is lovely yarn, soft feeling but hefty enough to make really nice socks. I’m thinking they will be The Hubster’s first pair of hand-knit socks. He wants a pair
for sleeping in to keep his tootsies warm. Or maybe I’ll just keep them! (It’s soooo hard to give socks away.)
“Soctober” is running away on me. I was hoping to get two pairs done this month, and I will be lucky to get this pair done. I guess I will have to have a Socvember as well.
And I’m very much reminded this morning why it’s good to make these wool socks. 23 degrees out this morning, and the wood floors are pretty chilly. We’re into wool sock season already!
The socks I’m wearing are from Opal yarn also, something probably unavailable now. It was part of the Harry Potter series. Self-striping yarn is so much fun!

Lovely blue color for your hubster’s socks. You’d better be careful of what you say for future socks — now that you know he’s watching! lol.
Hi, Honey. I always wondered if you really read my blog or just looked at the pictures! I guess for your reward, these will be your socks. *heart*
Socks please.
Glad I am in Alabama. Think it was 64 this morning. We walked in the rain.
Pretty sock yarn! I find it hard to give away hand knitted items myself.
