What’s on the Needles?

Socks, of course!

I’m participating in Judy Laquidara’s What’s on the Needles Fridays.  It may not look like much progress — well, there ISN’T much progress, but I did do a few rows so I’m ready to start the heel flap.

Judy L at Patchwork Times has suggested making socks out of Opal yarn in October (opal being October’s birthstone and all…)  Pictured are the five skeins I have of opal yarn.  Any one of them would be fun to knit up.  Which one would you choose to turn into a pair of socks first?  There’s a brighter blue, a raspberry, brown, grey, and a darker blue.  The light blue socks I’m working on are also in Opal yarn, and they are going to be yummy!

Judy is also having a quiltathon right now (where does she find the time and energy???)

  1. I don’t have an updated photo of my knitting but I have socks and a baby blanket on my needles right now and I had a lovely knitty day in Cannon Falls.

  2. The socks on the needles are very pretty. I’m partial to the first one -blues, purples, but the raspberry is pretty to. Any of them would be fine with me. Do you want my size??
just teasing. One day I WILL learn to make socks, but in the meantime I’ll just admire everyone else’s talents.

  3. beautiful yarn and socks so glad I don’t have a yarn store nearby so I can’t buy yarn the way I do fabric maybe for my next project.
    Beautiful

  4. Raspberry is my favorite. Why not put them in a sack, shake them up, and knit up which ever one you pull out. What do you use for background when you photograph your yarns? Colors on mine always look washed out with the flash on my camera.

  5. they all look wonderful, but the shades of brown look interesting I love the picture this morning. Flowers and butterflys are always beautiful.
