September

I love the cone flowers

…even when they’re dry and fading fast.  The orange and pink don’t seem to belong together at this point, and the petals are slowly turning black.    I hope we have good fall colors this year, but it might be too dry.

Fun day today:  Book club/breakfast, then  I’m heading to Red Wing, MN, for a girlfriend outing.  (Think Red Wing Shoes & Red Wing Pottery.)  Whether the trees are turning or not, it’s always fun when four “giggly girls” get together to celebrate a couple of birthdays!

(PS:  The other three giggle girls sent the most beautiful floral basket to my mom’s funeral in June.  I took a photo of the yellow flowers back in June, and I used part of that picture in my blog header today.  And the basket of flowers is still blooming by my front door!)
