Put a quilter girl in an applique’ class, and she makes a tiny little wall hanging. It looks okay. So a year and a half later, she decides to do a 72″ x 72″ wall hanging for her second project. Yes, that’s me, jumping in with both feet before I remember I can’t swim.
I have enough applique’ pieces prepared whereby I could start glue-basting. I’ve started stitching this block (the lower right-hand corner), and it doesn’t look too bad! I need 13 blocks like this and 12 pieced star blocks.
I’m linking this post to Judy Laquidara’s Patchwork Times Design Wall Monday post. Be sure to stop over and see what other quilters are working on.

What a great block! Can’t wait to see more.
This is lovely, Sue. The black background is very striking. I have seen your work and I know it will be beautiful when it’s done. Plus, Pam and Margaret are excellent mentors when it comes to doing applique so if you have trouble, they are there to help. 🙂 I miss the fun of DayStitcher’s.
Sandi, you are so right!
I installed a WordPress theme extension plugin that apparently fixed the sidebars. Then “Comments” started acting up. This moment, all seems fine!)
Interestingly enough, today the sidebar is right where you intended it to be ~ hummm…must be those internet elves at work.
