I have two pairs of socks going. I *heart* the blue yarn, so soft. I *no heart* the brown yarn, a little scratchy. It will be hard to work on the brown pair with so much yummy yarn in my sewing room, so Jim, you might get the blue pair for winter sleep socks instead of the brown. At least they aren’t pink!
And I took a hat class (along with Pam B) at our new knit shop in the Prior Lake Library, The Twisted Loop Yarn Shop. I’m not done yet, but I love the hat:
Linking to Judy L’s blog and her On the Needles post for this week. Check it out to see what other knitters are up to!

The hat is not hard. If you haven’t used two colors before, take a class or find some instructions about carrying the yarn in back. It’s a lot of fun, and I plan to make more hats from this pattern. The yarn I used is Paint Box in the color Thistle (wool) with Mega Stoppino (wool & acrylic) in a cream.
The blue sock is Madelinetosh sock yarn in Morning Dove (the photo is too aqua). This is my first time using Madelinetosh, and it’s a dream. The pattern is the basic sock out of the Socks Soar on Two Circular Needles book by Cat Borhdi, my go-to pattern.
The brown sock is…a mystery. It is a yarn I bought at a shop we ran across on a retreat out of state, and I can’t find the label. Sorry. It wasn’t anything I had heard of before, and may have been a locally produced yarn. As pointed out in one of the comments, it may be warmer than the softer yarns. That’s encouraging, and I may actually finish it now. Thank you, Susan of The Thread and I!
The brown scratchy sock will feel much better in cold weather………. The blue looks like a soft cloud.
Great hat pattern……. Don’t you think it knits up faster when you are changing colors. I never could figure out why……. Maybe it is watching the design appear.
I like the hat-your knitting is so nice and consistent.

Did I see that hat pattern on Ravelry? I love that one. Is it difficult?
What yarns are you using for the socks? Name names please! 🙂 That cap looks amazing. I have never tried changing colors so I’m intrigued!
Love the hat! I’ve only attempted colorwork once and it’s still WIP (actually in hibernation).
I love the blue sock and I like the brown sock but not as much since you said it was scratchy. 😉
I LOVE the hat yarn! and the design. I want to learn to do that. But not today.
