of cameras! And really, the family is getting kind of big and it’s time to put some out for adoption on eBay!
My new “baby” is a red Nikon Coolpix P510, superzoom, with an optical zoom of 42x (with 2x digital). My Panasonic has a zoom of 18x (with 4x digital). There isn’t a huge benefit in the TOTAL amount of zoom, but there is a very noticeable difference in quality when I’m totally zoomed out — which seems to be how I spend my life, “totally zoomed out”.
So like any camera junkie with a new toy, I wandered around the house this morning taking pictures. Bear with me . . . this is not a typical post! My breakfast (for inquiring minds, it’s Greek yogurt, peaches, frozen blueberries, and a sprinkle of Grape Nuts):
How about some rich color? A stained-glass floor lamp (which, by the way, looks good in any picture):
A zoom test: A photo in regular wide angle of the pond behind our house. The orange circle will come into play in the following photo.
In the orange-circled area, there were a couple of Canadian Geese. Zoomed in the whole 84x:
Quality is a big improvement over my old camera. I will have to think ahead and do a side-by-side comparison of the two cameras. I have dearly loved my past two Panasonics, but this just-out Nikon is the bomb!
While I napped yesterday (I was a little under the weather), my DH installed new lighting in my sewing room. It’s a longer rectangular room, and all the corners were so dark. Track lighting has made all the difference in the world (when I do a little more cleaning, I’ll show you the BOTTOM of the room as well!):
I so wanted to take a picture of a bird at the feeder. I had to settle for this starling out in the grass:
Now I have to sit down and read the book and see all the things I’m not doing right, but I know I’m going to LOVE this camera!
