Design-Wall Monday

Or more precisely, this week, Design-Chair Monday.

Here’s a drawing of my January Color Palette Challenge quilt, with the borders I came up with last week.  It’s now going to be a queen-sized bedspread.  The ribbon border is a slightly modified border from Judy Laquidara’s 60 Pieced Quilt Borders book.  (By the way, you certainly don’t have to use EQ to use Judy’s designs.  Her quilts and borders are ready to go, right out of the book.)  If you DO use EQ, her borders are a great jumping-off point to play around with.  And a bargain — 15 quilt patterns and SIXTY pieced border patterns.  I bought a pattern at a quilt shop last week along the way to the Brownwood retreat…$10 for one pattern.  Anyway, this book probably will never make it to my book shelf; it will be close at hand by my computer.

I have my flying geese done for the pieced border, and one side of flying geese sewn together.  The rest of this top should go together pretty quickly.

Bop on over to Judy L’s blog to see what other quilters are up to this week!

  1. I can’t wait to see it finished. You know I was drooling over it at the retreat. The borders look great in the picture.
