Quilting Gallery is celebrating their 4th birthday by hosting a Blog Hop Party! Lots of quilting bloggers (230 from over 20 countries) have signed up to join the celebration by having a give-away on their blog. Thanks go to Michele from the Quilter’s Gallery for organizing this event.
A bit about me: I’m a knitter and a quilter in beautiful (but slightly chilly) Minnesota. I also enjoy photography — especially taking pictures of quilts, birds, and bugs! (I know, it’s weird…I can’t stand bugs and bees but I love taking their pictures.)
This is my favorite picture I took last summer. This bee is showing us how to enjoy all the best that life has to offer — just dive in head first!
The Give-Away:
As a quilter, I’m always on the lookout for a product that makes me a faster quilter. Or a better quilter. Or APPEAR to be a better quilter!
I know there are many, many methods for making half-square triangles and quarter-square triangles (hour-glass blocks). In the past, my favorite method has been purchasing the paper rolls. Using the paper makes your blocks truly square and the right size. Construction is so much easier when your components are the right size and shape! Sometimes I would run out of a size, or I would need a slightly “odd” size paper.
This past year I started using Triangulationsâ„¢ software.
Triangulationsâ„¢ allows you to print the size blocks you need, using your regular printer and regular printer paper. I shorten my stitch length (as you would using any paper technique). To remove the paper, I crease the paper on the stitching line and it easily rips off. I’m sold! I’ve especially enjoyed using the Triangulationsâ„¢ when making my Farmer’s Wife Sampler blocks, as you can print the exact size you need in 1/16″ increments.
(If you haven’t used half-square triangle paper on a roll or sheets before, here’s a Triangulationsâ„¢ demonstration on YouTube.)
To Enter: Leave a comment here sharing what your current favorite fabric colors are. (I’ve been very drawn to brown and red quilts lately.)
The Fine Print:
My give-away will end Saturday, 12/17, at noon CST. Sorry, I will not be mailing internationally. Only one entry per person. Winner will be determined by an on-line random number generator.
After you’ve left a comment for me, be sure to CLICK HERE to hop on over to Quilting Gallery (starting Saturday December 10) for the list of other participating bloggers.
Good luck, and thank you for stopping by!
–Sue
I usually love aquas and greens together. Lately, though, I’ve been loving plums. Thanks for the chance!
Currently I am in a blue and yellow place………..which doesn’t go very well with Christmas. SIGH!
Thanks for the giveaway!
This looks like a great tool! Thanks.
Precise pricing on your home printer, in any size you want? You mean no stretching seams or chopped off points? I’m sold! My favorite colors now are oranges and greens. Not necessarily together, but they can be 🙂
I love triangles on a roll, but they’re hard to find in shops around here – it would be great to just print off what I need when I need it! I don’t know what my favorite color combination is right now – black/brown/tan? teal/aqua/green?
I love Triangulations but I didn’t know there were flying geese……
What a great giveaway. 🙂 My new favorite color combo right now is black and red.

If it isn’t of the northwoods theme, then is is definitely blues and purples. Happy Holidays!
I love red and white . thanks
My favorite colors right now are brown with other brighter colors- it has more to do with who I am making the quilt for rather than my favorite colors.
Thanks for participating in the blog hop.

Lately been gravitating towards blues and purples.
My current favorite color pallet is tone on tone colors of tan, whites and light browns. I love to use this as my pieced background for almost anything. Gives the quilt a real vintage look.

Thank you for such a generous giveaway — I would love to try this software. I love blues with yellows or golds, but lately I ‘ve been working on a black-and-white and red quilt. So much fun!
What an exciting prize. I seem to be using a lot of blue lately. My favorite color could be something else next week.
I have been drawn to lime green and loud colors the past 6 months or so. I volunteer with the Quilts for Kids program in PA and I have been making alot of quilts in loud colors for girls.
I haven’t tried Triangulations yet but would like to. My favorite colors lately have been the red, turquois, yellow and white. For some reason I love these colors together! Merry Christmas Sue.
HELLO! Me too! I’ve always loved red! I did depart from the red/brown for Christmas and made a red+green+cream table runner for my daughter; just finished it; turned out so pretty!
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL!
I love pinks the best, I think!
My favorite colors are dark green and a reddish wine. I am starting on a wall hanging with these colors in it and lots of flying geese.
Now you know that I don’t have favorite colors! lol! But I’ve never heard of Triangulations but I think I need to get it and give it a try. I have an idea for a triangle-based quilt using fat eights and this might work perfectly for it.
Wine, deep blue, and cream. Thanks for the giveaway and the review of Triangulations. It’s on my wishlist.
I’m currently stuck on pink and brown.
