Sometimes I think I am a bit strange.  Okay, more than a bit.

I love to go out back to the wildflowers and take pictures of insects.  I hate insects…in my house.  They are fine when they are outside where they belong and they don’t bother me.  And they are fascinating when they let me take close-up pictures of them and they don’t turn on me and attack.  I have to confess, though, to wanting to take a shower when I’ve spent 10 or 15 minutes looking at all kinds of bugs close up.

I think I enjoy the wildflowers so much because I don’t garden any more. I certainly wouldn’t have liked this thistle blossom in my garden, but in the buffer zone between manicured lawns and rugged-looking park land, I think they are beautiful.

Here are better wildflower/weed quotes than I could come up with.  Have a fun Saturday.  Sew something.

here is a quote that I saw, thanks for the link! While visiting Nebraska a week ago, I commented on a sweet little bloom in some folk’s yards. Larry’s Papa called it the bane of the yard, an obnoxious weed that folks try to remove. I thought it was very nice….
