Well, I totally blew Design Wall Monday this week. I started this post on Monday, then our internet service at the condo alternated between bad and none. This morning was no service, but tonight it’s not too bad.
I finished up my January monochromatic color challenge quilt, hosted by Judy Laquidara (yes, I know it’s March, but I actually finished it in February — that’s almost early for me). I made this quilt mostly from stash/scraps with Terry Atkinson’s Urban Cabin pattern.
This quilt is already out of my hands. We have a lady in the housekeeping department here at our condo who has a family member that has a serious medical condition requiring him to take three-hour trips for medical treatments. The travel/hotel costs are putting a serious strain on the family, and this is a very YOUNG family with children. There was a benefit here Sunday to help them out, and since I didn’t have a home in mind for this quilt, donating it for a raffle seemed like a logical thing to do. It was won by our friend Roxy from Michigan, so it’s fun to know it’s going to a good home!
I have had this bag pattern for some time, and this seemed like a good project for this week (Melly & Me pattern “Meadow”). Of course I had extra fabric, so I cut out six of them and have enough for I think six more (when will I learn moderation???)! Good thing they are fun to make, if a little putzy and time consuming. The first two are designated as gifts for friends Luana (Iowa) and Barb (Wisconsin), and they are done and delivered.
