One more look at the Minnesota State Fair. This a view looking slightly uphill at the Agriculture Building in the morning light. The plantings around the building are especially beautiful this year.
The first thing I do in the morning is catch up on my blog reading. Judy Laquidara at Patchwork Times is singing my song this morning — The UFO Blues! It’s an interesting post with some good comments, and you can click here to visit that post. It’s a good pep talk, and with only four months left of 2009, it’s very timely.
For my Telephoto Tuesday picture sharing, I’ll take you back to the Minnesota State Fair for a peek at a few more quilts. I didn’t even take my camera on yesterday’s visit, as DH has my pocket-sized camera and last week I had to lug my big camera around. Once was enough! So a few more pics from last week. Here is a comparatively simple, traditional one, with lots of room for beautiful hand quilting:

This was my favorite, favorite, favorite (I apologize for the glare, plus it’s a little out of focus…oh, well, still love it!):

In the photo above, the quilt at the bottom of the picture is a game of Candy Land.

This is Pam’s hand quilted yellow and purple quilt. It became the backdrop for the “purple case”. You never know how your quilt will be displayed when you get to the State Fair. I shouldn’t even show you my entries after looking at all these beautiful, stunning quilts, but there’s only two and here they are. First is the Fruit Ladies, which you’ve seen to death, now covering a table
:
And an poor, angled shot of my Quilt On A Stick entry (and the purple ribbon isn’t for the quilt, it’s part of the design):

And one more look in the Miracle of Birth center at a newborn calf, hours old:

Contest — my fair-themed Silly Contest is still running until 9:00 Wednesday morning (September 2, Minnesota time), so check it out!
