TIME’S UP — THE CONTEST IS OVER.
I was just thinking about all the yummy and/or weird food I saw at the Minnesota State Fair yesterday, and I thought of a way to have a give-away!!! The only food-on-a-stick-sign photo that didn’t get included in the collage below is the Gator On A Stick, and I will tell you now that I did not eat ‘gator at the fair (or EVER, for that matter)! However, I did eat two of the items shown in the photo collage below:

Yes, I did eat two of the items above (and ONLY two), and if you can tell me in a comment to this post which two foods on a stick I enjoyed yesterday, you will win a nice fabric surprise mailed to you! In keeping with the food theme, it will be a jelly roll, layer cake, cinnamon bun, or turnover fabric collection.
Duplicates will be awarded if there is more than one winner. Only one comment entry per person, please. Contest will end Wednesday morning, September 2, 2009, at 9:00 a.m. Minnesota time.
Hmmmm, so what do you think I ate?
–Sue
NOTE1: Be sure to leave your e-mail address in the space provided in the comment form so I can contact you if you’re a winner. No one will see your e-mail address but me, and I will not share it or use it for anything but this contest. Also, comments are moderated for first-time commentors. If your comment doesn’t appear immediately, it will appear after I approve it during my next review of comments. You don’t need to have a blog to play.
NOTE 2: To answer Floribunda’s question, Hotdish On A Stick is tater tots alternated with meatballs, dipped in batter & fried (looks like a corn dog) with a cream of mushroom soup dipping sauce.

they pretty much all sound disgusting, so how do I choose? Let’s go with walleye and chocolate covered fruit. (could you explain “hotdish on a stick” please?)
I’m guessing chocolate covered fruit and shrimp. Some of those things sound really gross.
Chocolate covered bacon strips, on a stick?

Sue, Lobster and the Mocha on a stick. It all sounds fattening. Do they ever do anything remotely healthy? Maybe the Chocolate Covered Fruit would count?
Sue I’m thinking chocolate covered fruit on a stick and Mocha on a stick ( I also was leaning towards the Key lime Pie bar
I’m guessing Buffalo and Key Lime Pie. I’m not liking the sound of the Hotdish on a Stick at all
i’m guessing fudge puppies and chocolate covered fruit on a stick.
(and i agree about the covered hot dish–ewwww)
I’m glad you explained the hot dish on a stick and am I missing the chocolate covered bacon on a stick sign? I really need to get out more especially to a fair I guess since I’ve not heard of all of these treats that I seem to be missing! LOL!!!! OK my picks are shrimp and the key lime pie bar.
Being a Wisconsinite, I have to guess cheese on a stick and chocolate covered fruit on a stick.
Some of those things on a stick sound really gross. I think you tried Seasoned Baby Potatoes on a Stick and Chocolate Covered Fruit on a Stick. But I think you should have tried the Walleye and the Buffalo, whatever that is. How did they get the buffalo that small? Is it even buffalo or is it buffalo chicken wings. Lots of stuff on a stick. It’s nearly enough to make me sick. Ha, ha, ha!
I’m going with key lime and pork chops. I just got back from the fair, yum!
I am going to say Fudge Puppies and Calzone.
P.S. I guess because I am from Louisiana, most of these sound pretty good to me. We eat just about anything down here.
Pork chop and fudge puppies is my guess!
Im going with the Nutroll, which i know is a favorite of yours along with the Walleye.
I’m guessing fudge puppy and shrimp. These remind me of the Jeff Dunham character Jose Jalapeno on a Stick.
How about the calazone and the key lime pie, though my first guess was the shrimp and key lime pie. I guess Florida was on my mind.
Last time I went to the fair, smoked turkey legs were popular – they are already on a “stick”.
I’m guessing fudge puppies and a hotdish on a stick. Sounds like you had a great time at the fair. I can’t wait for ours in October.
Wow, never heard of MOST of these things…I’ll have to keep my eyes open at our next fair and see what is offered on a stick. I’ll guess the baby seasoned potatoes and the chocolate covered fruit…a fairly healthy day for you..too many carbs, but hey…low fat so there!
Sue, I have no idea what you like to eat. I guess I should have paid closer attention when we’ve had lunch together. But I’ll guess you had a Nutroll on a stick(that would be my choice) and Walleye.
Wow, I had no clue about most of these culinary items: I guess you had lobster and key lime pie.
Did you have Pork Chop and Key Lime Pie?
Me, I’m guessing the Fudge puppy on a stick and shrimp on a stick! I think the Fudge puppy sounded great! And shrimp on a stick, well that sounded pretty good too. I love to see what there is for “Fair Food”!
My Guess is Hot Dish on A Stick and the Key Lime on a Stick.
Trish in Kansas
Now you are making me hungry!! Hmmmm I think I have some Key Lime Yogurt. not as good I am sure, but here in the house. :0) I am enjoying your Blog
Hee hee, this is good, Sue. I’ll be at the fair on Saturday so now I know what to look for. I think you ate Hot dish on a stick followed by Key Lime pie bar on a stick. And if you didn’t well, that’s what I’ll be hoping to eat on my day at the Fair.
It was good to see you today.
I know you love key lime pie – but on a stick? And you definitely would need some mocha on a stick to wash it down – so my guess is key lime pie on a stick and mocha on a stick.
Hmm…Fruit and a fudge puppy?
Now you made me hungry…I think fair food is lots of fun.
My guess is the Calzone Pizza Stick and the Key Lime Pie Bar.

Hi Sue -
We ate ALL day at the fair with the kids. We were STILL hungry when we left!!! My guess is key lime pie and fudge puppies. Enjoy your second day there! (She didn’t sign in with her name, but this is Kerry. –Sue)
I will guess Pork Chop and Key Lime Pie.
I’m going to guess the pork chop and the key lime pie. I actually think that I could go for key lime pie on a stick right now! Thanks for the giveaway.
Chocolate covered fruit and pork chop
I hope I’m not to late to enter…..I loved going to the MN State Fair, when my daughter was judging for 4H….I would go check out the quilts. My guess..
Shrimp on a stick and key lime pie.
That’s one of the toughest challenges when we went was choosing what stick to eat!!!
