Judy L’s Stash Quilt

Judy L at Patchwork Times has another quilt pattern she’s sharing.  This is getting dangerous — her projects are overlapping!!!  And for just that reason, I was going to pass on this one.  It’s a simple quilt (so we’ve been told) that we can pull the fabric for from stash.  Sounded fun, but I just have too much going on.  Then I started seeing some of the finished blocks.  Dang!  I could do that!  They’re easy-peasy blocks, although she hasn’t shared how they go together yet, and that may involve more work.

When I saw someone’s completed blocks, a dim little light went on in my head.  Three years ago I made an ecru and red quilt, and I knew there was a bag with partial FQs of shades of coffee with varying amounts of cream.    My quilt will be less scrappy with ecrus for the lights, and dark reds, blues and browns for the darks.

I cut out all the lights and darks; the dark sets with one light patch are above.  I also made one block, just to make sure the pieces come out and I didn’t make some major boo-boo.

This is the kind of stash it’s particularly smart to bust — leftovers from another project hiding in a bag!  I’m glad I decided to jump in on this one.  It won’t take long at all to stitch up these cute little blocks, and then we’ll see what Judy has in store for us next!

Your blocks are going to look wonderful……I haven’t decided if I’m going to do this one yet. Once a person gets rolling on this, it could go very fast.
