I just had to post a photo of Milo, our rent-a-puppy, with his favorite toy. It must have been a Christmas present from his owners before they went out of town. This is what we see several times thousands of times a day. Milo wants to play “fetch”. Thankfully, he does the fetching. He never tires of it. Never. Ever. Also, in case you couldn’t guess, a picture of me and DH, and a couple of my most favorite bird pictures. I never tire of watching the birds eating the crab apples off our tree just outside our kitchen window.

It’s hard to believe that today is December 24th. We have a few packages under our make-believe Christmas tree (hibiscus plant, naked with no decorations). We will have a nice dinner tonight, but nothing extravagant (pork chops and sweet potatoes, in case you were wondering). DS3 will be home tonight or tomorrow (when we’ll be having corned beef and cabbage), and we will be delighted to spend Christmas with him. We’ll be thinking of DS1 in Virginia, and DS2 and DIL in China with her family.
I’m sending my very best wishes to each and every one of you this Christmas Season — wishes for good health, safe travel, and a blessed Christmas celebration.
Sue

Aren’t rent-a-dogs the best? Your bird photos are fantastic! What kidn of bird is that on the left?
The bird on the left is an emaciated-looking robin. I would guess it’s a female, as the juveniles have more dark mixed in on their underbellies. The robins enjoy these crab apples in the spring when the ground is still frozen and worms are hard to come by. I also read the western robins are paler and duller in color than the eastern ones, but the ones we see aren’t usually this pale. (And, for anyone who didn’t know, the bird on the right is a cedar waxwing.)
thanks for the pic of Milo, The Doggie Who Came for Christmas. (i was kind of hoping to see another pic of him.)
sounds like he has both of you well trained by now.LOL
Merry Christmas to you!
Merry Christmas, Sue!!
Hi Aunt Sue!!
Loved your blog updates. Uncle Jim sent a note along with the link to your blog,of the bird pictures! Awesome!! I bought a new point & shoot camera, a Panasonic DMC-TZ5 Lumix. Purchased it through Amazon.com. Took a couple of pictures of Bald Eagles perching in a snag last Sunday. I’m very happy with the camera.
How did you assemble your blog Christmas Card? Loved it.
I hope all is well in Texas. We’re trying to stay warm up north. Hopefully it’s a short cold snap – tolerable.
Love you both.
Doug.
